AMY BAKER is the Director of Bands at de Zavala Middle School. Ms. Baker will be teaching the Varsity Band and Flute, Trumpet, French Horn beginners. Mrs. Baker has 24 years of band directing experience and is currently in her 2nd year at de Zavala Middle School. She has played the flute for 35 years and has achieved many years of continued success with her bands at UIL All-Region, and All-City Competitions. 

Mrs. Baker is deeply passionate about music literacy and advocacy, and has mentored hundreds of successful former students who have gone on to pursue careers in medicine, engineering, teaching, and music. 

She is a proud mother of two children, ages 12 and 9, and two fur-babies.

LOGAN PARKER is the Assistant Director of Bands at de Zavala Middle School. Mr. Parker will be teaching the Non-Varsity Band, Single Reeds, Double Reeds, and Low Brass beginners. Mr. Parker comes to us from Lubbock, TX where he taught at J.T. Hutchinson Middle School. 

Mr. Parker attended Texas Tech University where he performed with with various TTU ensembles including the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Goin' Band from Raiderland. He completed his student teaching at Frenship High School and Heritage Middle School and was a recipient of the TMEA Collegiate Music Educator Award, TMEA Student Teaching Scholarship, and the Kappa Kappa Psi Distinguished Scholar Scholarship. His professional affiliations include TMEA, NAfME, OAKE, and the Kappa Kappa Psi Alumni Association.

In his spare time, he enjoys teaching private lessons, pursuing a Master's degree, spending time with his dog and two cats, and baking.

EMILIO PLA (He/Him) is the Percussion Director at Irving HS and the surrounding cluster of middle schools. His responsibilities include all percussion ensembles as well as the drumline for the Irving Tiger Marching Band. Prior to Irving High School, Mr. Pla was a drumline instructor for Northwest High School and Chisholm Trail High School. 

Mr. Pla has been a member of performing ensembles such as the Dallas Brass Band and 2:00 Steel Band. He was also a snare drummer for Vigilantes Indoor Percussion, Genesis, Phantom Regiment and the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. His active memberships include the Texas Music Educators Association and Percussive Arts Society. 

Mr. Pla currently resides in Lewisville where he enjoys playing games, writing music, and hanging out with his friends.
